Petitions submitted by individuals to the Republic Education Inspection Service mostly concern the conduct of competition procedures for employment in educational institutions, determination of surplus staff, and acquisition of diplomas, emphasized Željko Ostić, the Chief Inspector for Education and Sports, in an interview for BL PORTAL.
Ostić explained that the action the inspector will undertake depends on the nature of the identified irregularity, and if there was an error in scoring, they would order a recount of candidates’ scores, and if procedures did not announce the competition itself, they would order its annulment.
He highlighted that within regular supervision, the inspectors verify whether the teaching process is organized and carried out following the law, and that inspection represent one of the links in the educational process chain, contributing to the establishment and maintenance of the quality of teaching itself.
