The Republic Urban Planning, Construction and Environmental Inspection Service conducts inspection surveillance concerning compliance with the regulations referring to spatial planning and maintenance, building and construction, construction materials, environmental protection, ecology, waste management and other administrative areas is so regulated.

In accordance with regulated competences, the Republic Urban Planning, Construction and Environment Inspection Service controls:

• compliance with conditions for licencing subjects who deal with construction, and production of technical and urban planning documentation,
• production of strategic materials in construction, concrete and asphalt,
• the use of constructed facilities, i.e. works of technical surveillance (dams, bridges and tunnels),
• building of buildings for which the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Civil Engineering and Ecology has issued the approval
• recovery and rehabilitation of buildings which are on the national monuments list,
• subjects which are polluters and which have to possess the environmental licence,
• compliance with conditions for the work of companies dealing with environmental protection
• managing of legal landfills and
• other requirements prescribed by the law.
