The concept of Integrated Border Management (IBM) involves coordination and cooperation between all relevant services and agencies involved in border surveillance and control, in order to establish and effective, efficient and integrated border management system and improve the control and safety of borders.
The aim of the IBM is a more functional and efficient border management system, which in turn will result in faster and safer flow of cross-border traffic of persons and goods, shorter waiting time at border crossings, better insight into the cross-border traffic, improved quality of border controls, improved working conditions for services involved in border controls, more efficient protection of the state border.
The Republic of Srpska Inspectorate is involved in the IBM system through the Republic Phytosanitary Inspection Service who inspect plants, plant products and regulated facilities, fertilizers and soil refinement products and plant protection products, i.e. phytopharmaceutical products during import, expert and transport at six border crossings for road transport, and if necessary at the border crossings for railway, river and postal traffic in the Republic of Srpska.
