The Republic Food Safety Inspection Service conducts inspection surveillance concerning compliance with the food safety regulations in foreign trade and internal market, supervision over sanitary-hygienic conditions in food operators and other administrative areas if so regulated.
In accordance with regulated competences, the Republic Food Safety Inspection Service inspects:
- food in during import concerning accompanying documentation, hygienic condition of the shipment, quality and safety,
- hygienic-sanitary conditions of the facilities, rooms, devices and food production and sales equipment,
- supervision over employees concerning sanitary examinations, additional education about food hygiene, use of work clothes and shoes and hygienic food manipulation,
- manufacturer’s specifications and food declaration,
- analysing raw materials and final products through licenced labs,
- drinking water supply and
- other requirements prescribed by the law.
