Miodrag Mišić, Acting Director of the Republic of Srpska Inspectorate said in an interview for “Glas Srpske” that in six months of this year the total of 13,500 inspections were conducted in the first six months of this year, and in 26 percent of them inspectors found irregularities. Over 1,900 administrative measures were issued, while for violations committed inspectors issued minor offence orders in the total value of over BAM four million. In the foreign trade 65,000 inspections of shipments were conducted and on that bases over BAM three million were paid into the Republic of Srpska budget. The total of 2,600 samples were taken for laboratory testing of quality and safety of imported goods.
He added that due to changes in the market and new manner of violations the inspection service must continuously adjust its control mechanisms. Changes in the law enabled inspectors to introduce themselves as service users of buyers of goods, and also these changes enabled inspectors to look for unregistered work in posts and advertisements on sale of products or provision of services on social networks, Mišić added. He stressed that through continuous monitoring of prices, combating illegal employment and control of unregistered business operations through social networks, the inspection service protects the citizens and the economy.
