Due to announced potential price increase for liquid petroleum fuels, following the rise of oil prices on global stock markets, the Republic Market Inspection Service in the coming time period will continue controls of fuel price formation in the Republic of Srpska.
While forming prices, businesses who trade in oil derivatives are obliged to adhere to the profit margin prescribed by the Decision on determining profit margin implemented in price formation of oil derivatives, which was adopted by the Government of the Republic of Srpska in order to preserve living standards of citizens.
Compared to March this year, when significant irregularities in price formation were found, and inspection services fined the traders, the situation on the market lately has stabilised significantly.
Due to current global situation, disturbances that will influence the Republic of Srpska market are possible. In regards to that, price formation remains the focus of inspection services, in order to protect economic interests of citizens and to combat unrealistic price formation. The inspection service is going to continue to monitor the situation in the field and adjust its work as the situation requires.
